Varel Europe designs, manufactures as well as sales our high-quality and high-performance drill bits and provides technical assistance to customers in over 30 countries in the Eastern Hemisphere.
To assist our Geosciences Manager, we are looking for a:
Geosciences Engineer
Summary:
After a training period to learn about drilling technology and about Varel's products and data analysis tools in our headquarters in Pau (France), the successful applicant will then:
- Analyze our customer technical data (geological data analysis)
- Process post run data through our Geosciences tools to analyze our drill bits performances
- Create and update technical and performance indicators
- Provide our Sales team assistance in data analysis
- Provide geosciences reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Mining Engineering
- BS / License /Master in Geology
- Knowledge of Oil and Gas business or technology is preferred
Skills:
- Fluent in English
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents (statistics, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, mechanics...)
- Ability to compose technical reports
- Ability to adapt and work in multicultural environments
- Must work well within a team
Remuneration: Base salary will depend on experience
Location: Pau (France) with travels around Eastern Hemisphere
