Service Engineer

After a training period to learn about drilling technology and about Varel's products and drilling procedures, the successful applicant will then:

• Prepare and preplan the drilling with Varel representative (gather and analyze information, perform hydraulic calculations)
• Prepare the bit and equipments before the run (hole conditions, equipment, drilling parameters)
• Run the bit with the parameters insuring bit performance
• Elaborate a bit run report and potential recommendations to improve bit performance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Mechanical, Mining or Petroleum Engineering
• Knowledge of Oil and Gas and Drilling Bits

Skills:

• Fluent in English
• Fluent in Arabic
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents (statistics, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, mechanics...)
• Ability to compose technical reports
• Ability to adapt and work in multicultural environments
• Must work well within a team

Remuneration: Base salary according profile + rig bonus
