Varel International Acquires Pendemak Industries and Announces Varel Rock Bits Canada
Acquisition of the company’s largest oil & gas distributor helps Varel International meet strategic objectives and continues to deliver value to Canadian customers
(DALLAS, 16 MARCH 2007) – Varel international announces the acquisition of Pendemak Industries, the company’s largest and long-time Canadian-based distributor of oil and gas drill bits. Pendemak Industries will now be known as Varel Rock Bits Canada. The acquisition does not affect any of the Canadian leadership or sales force. Former President of Pendemak Industries, Rod MacKenzie, will continue on with the title Vice President, Sales and Operations – Canada, Varel Rock Bits Canada Inc.

In 1980, Pendemak Industries Ltd. was founded by the MacKenzie Family in Edmonton, Alberta and has since operated as Varel’s exclusive distributor of oil and gas drill bits for Canada. During the past 27 years, Pendemak has grown to be a very respectable organization with a large and knowledgeable technical sales force.
