Bit Run and Post Run Analysis

Meeting the Challenge

All of the planning, programming, and analysis steps lead to the most important step, the bit run. Varel works with customers to provide the engineered bit, and drilling program to get the job done.

After the bit is run our field engineers and technical representatives review the results of the run against the original performance benchmarks. If the run fell short of the goal we begin the process of identifying the “whys”. If the bit exceeds expectations we use the results to understand the explanation for the upside performance. If needed we revisit the GeoScience model as originally constructed to see if it needs to be recalibrated and the process begins again.
